ROOMS
My mouth immediately dropped as soon as I saw our room.
Having had spent glorious days at The Wild Grass Nature Resort while we were in Sigryia, I was already becoming a huge fan of having windows as opposed to cemented walls at that point, and I was certainly not disappointed when I stepped into our Suite at the Theva Residency.
Not only did we have an absolutely stunning panorama view of the hills of Kandy, but we also had an in-room Jacuzzi which faced the window, which would allow us not only to relax in the hot tub, but also to appreciate the nature before our eyes.

‘’That tree has flowers all year-round’’, the staff member who had helped us with our bags told us, while pointing to an eye-catching tree that was filled with red flowers just outside our window. ‘’The funny thing is’’ he continued with a proud smile, ‘’it that the tree doesn’t belong to our property, but it gives us this year-round beautiful view’’.

DINING
The Theva Residency’s award-wining restaurant is a whole experience on itself. The scrumptious variety of Asian-fusion delicacies, and as well western dishes, are sure to make you go crazy when trying to make up your mind (at least that is how I felt).
After having read ravishing reviews about this place, and eager for a change from exclusively eating curry all these days, I decided I wanted to try their quesadillas and boy, was I happy!
I have to say it was the most delicious quesadilla I ever had. I gave my boyfriend a piece of it and he liked it so much that he ate half my plate (and when we went down to have dinner later on in the day, we decided to take the quesadilla and share as an appetizer since we both liked it so much).

Furthermore, it won’t take you long to realize that even the simplest dishes are presented in a fine-dining style, such as the scrambled eggs and the fruit platter that they brought to our room.
If you by any chance stay the one of their Suites, I would also recommend trying to have breakfast in the room. The suites have an in-room wooden balcony where you can make it cozier if you put the bed blanket on top (don’t worry, the staff will be sure to make up the bed again when they do the turnover).
With that, you will have a fabulous view of the hills while enjoying your breakfast (and you will be protected from the infamous Sri Lankan mosquitos while you are it).
DRINKS
We also had a chance to enjoy two of their award-winning cocktails that the barista was kind enough to offer us. If there is one thing you should know about me is that I usually am not a cocktail girl. Being as I am not a sweet-tooth I always have a hard time in bars when choosing a cocktail that I like but I must admit that I LOVED the one they had recommended me.
SERVICE
As you’d expect from a luxury hotel, the service was flawless from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
One thing that stood out to me that after Cris and I had finished our dinner by the pool, upon us returning to our room, we noticed that someone from the hotel had gone in to do the turnover while we were downstairs. This meant that they had kindly closed all the curtains to prepare for bedtime (which I must say must be a lot of work, considering the panorama views the rooms offers, so I was thankful that someone had already done that for us).
Furthermore, there was also a cute box with a couple of chocolates and a sweet note wishing us goodnight on top of the bed.

It really is the small details that matter the most.
