Jewelry and fashion go hand in hand. In fact, jewelry styling is what makes women’s fashion so much fun and matching outfits with jewelry is my favorite thing. A beautiful gold necklace goes well with a basic shirt, and delicate earrings can boost your outfit. Find pretty jewelry and accessories inspiration.
HI girls, how are you today?
When I hit my 30s I decided I wanted more out of less.
I want my items to last longer, while at the same time aspiring for a less crammed closet and drawers.
In fact, since the beginning of 2020 I have been aiming to reduce my closet almost entirely (i.e. doing a capsule closet). This means that I possess fewer clothes but, when mixed, they create an entirely new outfit.
As a newfound minimalist girl, I am a huge fan of the timeless Italian style and I believe less is more (and quality over quantity, of course). This means that I enjoy using more classic and neutral pieces of clothing.
I like clean cuts and high-quality fashion, and I have a whole new obsession over monochromatic looks.
However, I understand that sometimes dressing like a minimalist woman can get boring if you do not properly accessorize your overall appearance.
I am a firm believer that jewelry and fashion go hand-in-hand, and that accessories can take your outfits from 0 to 100 with minimal effort.
That is why in today’s post I want to go over ideas on how you can style your outfits with your jewelry. Keep reading to understand the power of how statement jewelry, such as bracelets, rings, and necklaces can transform you into a more overall elegant woman.
How to Accessorize Your Jewelry Like a Pro
As a general rule of thumb when your pair jewelry with outfits, jewelry should be the last thing that you decide upon when putting your clothes together. The reason behind this is that they are mutually dependent on what you decide to wear.
- When you’re deciding how to accessorize, ask yourself the below questions:
- Does my outfit already contain a statement of some sort before accessorizing
- Am I wearing patterns or prints?
- What are the color tones of my outfit?Could I match my jewelry with any color of my clothes?
Being elegant is all about being intentional.
I learned this with Cris, my Italian boyfriend. On our first date, I noticed he had shades of marine blue on his shirt that perfectly matched his marine blue socks. Of course, I knew this move was intentional from his side. Needless to say, I immediately fell in love with Cris that day.
So yes, girls, being elegant is all in the details. You don’t need a flashy coat that calls everyone’s attention and you don’t need Gucci logos plastered all over your clothes. Learn from my first date with Cris: less is more. Rest assured people will take notice of small details if you pay attention to them, even if you don’t think anyone would.
There are endless options when it comes to jewelry and extras that you can add to your outfit including earrings, bracelets, rings, watches, necklaces. Options range from gold, silver, pearls (my favorite), boho, etc.
STATEMENT JEWELRY vs MINIMALIST JEWELRY
Statement jewelry is a way in which women express themselves and their personaly through the jewelry they wear. Statement jewelry is, in general, unique and bold (but can also be minimalist).
On the other hand, minimalist jewelry, also known as “naked jewelry” or “barely there jewelry,” is now trending, affordable and easy to find.
You can probably guess that I prefer minimalist statement jewelry. There is no going wrong when you go minimal.
However, at times I also appreciate using single statement accessories to vary my overall look. Sometimes, as well, statement jewelry can be minimal (I will show some examples below).
Think beautiful stand-alone turquoise earrings to complement a full-black outfit or even a long pearl necklace that can boost an otherwise boring neutral outfit.
How to Pair Jewelry With Outfits
Any outfit can go from boring to stunning with the right jewelry. You just need to learn to buy pieces that express your personality and always keep in mind not to overdo it.
Here are some more tips to accessorizing like a pro:
- Large earrings can be a great way to dress up a casual or formal outfit
- Long necklaces are a hot trend
- Be careful with proportions
- The more basic the outfit, the bolder your accessories can be
- Don’t wear too many accessories at once
- Try layering your bracelets
- Buy accessories that convey a part of your personality
- Don’t be afraid to mix materials
- Add pops of color
