Bedtime Beauty Tips That Will Transform Your Life
Hi girls, how are you today?
Did you know that our nighttime beauty routine determines various factors of our lives?
A nighttime beauty care routine determines whether you’ll get good sleep or not, how you’ll feel the next day, and it also determines how you’ll overall look the next day.
Think about it. A lot can happen within a few hours of unconsciousness; breakouts, dryness, and even wrinkles (yikes). However, if you create a steady and intentional beauty care routine before going to bed, you can make sure that the exact opposite takes place.
By following a daily beauty routine, you should start seeing fewer breakouts, redness, flaky skin, and as well as skin discoloration (all the while boasting smoother and softer skin).
Some of you don’t always have the time (or patience) in the morning to take care of yourselves, so by being prepared and following simple beauty care steps the night before, you’ll also feel a lot more fresh, clean, and rejuvenated when the morning comes (even if you have to wake up at five in the morning for work).

Brilliant Bedtime Beauty Tips Every Woman Should Know (seriously)
Bedtime Beauty Tips #1 What You Should Drink
Drinking warm water before bed will keep you hydrated through the night and may help the body to rid itself of unwanted toxins. Warm water may also help to relieve pain or cramping in the stomach.
Find below two great types of tea suggestions that will be sure to add benefits to your beauty sleep routine.
Warm drinks such as decaffeinated teas are great for bedtime, but what makes them even better is if they have great benefits that go along with them (as opposed to plain warm water, that is).
Turmeric is a spice that’s commonly associated with Indian dishes, but it also makes for an awesome detox drink before bed.
In fact, Tumeric helps the skin with it’s anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties (which reduces your skin breakouts and redness). Lastly, it is also rich in antioxidants, which are great for fighting skin aging.
Dandelion tea is packed with vitamins and minerals and will help cleanse and aid your system throughout the night. Detoxing your liver is claimed to also help against hormonal acne.
Definitely a great substitute to your regular sleepy-time tea.
Bedtime Beauty Tips #2 Create Your Ideal Nighttime Go-To
Every night when I jump into bed, I have my nighttime go-to kit next to me.
It is literally a small beauty bag that has only my most important night items (the ones that I have no excuse about not using).
We all know the importance of washing your face before bed. I even do a double cleanse, following my beloved Korean skincare routine. However, some days I don’t want to do a whole 10-steps beauty routine (heck, there are days that I don’t even want to wash my face with only water).
Yes, girls, even the most skincare-obsessed bloggers have lazy days in which we simply don’t want to wash our face before bed.
However, in the hopes of avoiding sleeping with makeup and sunscreen on when you do have a lazy day, a great solution is having an emergency go-to kit next to you.
This is a simple bag with your most important night essentials:
- Makeup remover (and cotton)
- Eye cream
- Hydrating face cream
- Lip Balm
- Hair Brush (maybe a scrunchie too)
These above items are the minimum you should aim to comply with every night before bed. Now if you want more thorough beauty routines, check out one of the below posts:

Toner is a key step in the beauty care routine that is misunderstood by most women
Toners follow cleansing and should be the first step in any skincare treatment. It balances the PH of skin (thus allowing for better efficacy of the products that follow it).
The reason behind this is because after you remove your cleanser with water this throws the PH of the skin off.
TONER APPLICATION TIP: Toner should also be applied with a press release motion. When you press the skin it slightly opens and when you release it grabs everything that is on the surface.
Joana Czech, the skincare guru of many celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian, goes to the extent of saying ‘If you have to skip steps, do not skip cleansers, toner and your moisturizer. Those three things are the most important. You can skip everything else. Toner is always underrated.’
Bedtime Beauty Care #3 Change Your Linen
One of the best ways to ensure that you’ll get a breakout on your face or another part of your body is to sleep in the same sheets and pillowcases for a week straight.
Make a habit of changing the bed linen twice a week. If this seems like a lot, aim to replace at least your pillowcases 2x a week.
I bet you’ll agree with me that there is no better way of sleeping than by smelling that fresh linen smell of bed sheets that have just come out of the laundry room.
Bedtime Beauty Care#4 A Weekly Exfoliating Shower
A good way to keep your sheets cleaner for a longer period of time is by taking an exfoliating shower just before bed.
Use your nighttime go-to scrub and gently scrub to remove any dead skin cells and dirt from your body. Don’t forget to moisturize once you’re out of the shower.
CAREFUL NOT TO OVER EXFOLIATE
Exfoliating is important as it helps remove dead cells from the skin, and thus uncloging the pores deep from withing. However, exfoliating can be addictive and, if you over-exfoliate with peels and lasers, you risk weakening and eventually destroying it.
For Your Sleep
Bedtime Self-Care Tips #5 Sleep on Your Back
Sleeping on your side or stomach is one of the underrated ways in which wrinkles form. The reason for this is that when you do this, your skin is pressed up against a pillow creating creases around your eyes and mouth while you sleep.
(This sounds terrible, I know).
The trick is to start trying to get used to falling asleep on your back -Or buy a pillow that’s meant for side sleepers), so any amount of wrinkles will be reduced.
Another great way to reduce wrinkles and avoid overnight breakouts, in general, is by using a silk pillowcase.
Bedtime Beauty Tips #7 Get a Full 8 Hours
You know how you wake up, look at yourself in the mirror, and there are those dark circles under your eyes(that seem to show through makeup no matter how good of a makeup artist you are)?
Dark circles are the result of stagnant blood in the vessels around the eyes because of your body caused by the reduced blood circulation due to the little sleep. One of the best ways to reduce
(or even to get rid of them altogether) is to get a full 8 hours of sleep.
Aim to sleep at a decent time that works for you and wake up without any more dark circles.
Bedtime Beauty Tips #8 Use a Sleeping Mask
If you have difficulties seeping throughout the entire night, (or even falling asleep at a normal time), have you ever tried using a sleeping mask?
I honestly love them. I go into deep sleep trance whenever I wear a sleeping mask. The only issue is that, due to the complete darkness it provides, whenever I use them I tend to oversleep.
We all want to wake up looking more beautiful and to take care of our looks for the long-term effects. That’s why it’s so important to start a beauty care routine, whether at night or in the morning so that our health and youth can last longer.
