Hobbies are meant to enrich your soul and minimize the stress in your life, while allowing you to feel busy doing something that you genuinely love. If you find yourself uninspired or simply in search for something that motivates you regularly, this list with 30 best hobbies for women will help you find something that excites you.
Hi girls, how are you today?
Healthy and fun hobbies are fundamental to living a balanced adult life, especially when you reach your 30s.
Suddenly, you feel you want to add more meaning to your life. Laying around the couch all day has lost its significance and now feels like a waste of time. Even watching movies has lost its initial appeal, as it is not adding anything to improve your lifestyle.
In your twenties, priorities are kind of a mess. Alternatively, in your thirties, you finally start figuring things out. After all, you’re finally coming into your own as a woman.
For those aforementioned reasons, this time in your life is ideal to perhaps discover and pursue an interesting new hobby (or maybe two or three).

30 Best Creative Hobbies for Women in their 30s To Start Today
1. Dancing

This is perhaps one of my own personal favorite hobbies. In fact, I was about to join a Tango class here in Barcelona before the quarantine happened (sigh).
Dancing is great for women of all ages and is a great way to keep active and release some endorphins. You can even look into more exotic dancing lessons, such as pole dancing or belly dancing (why not?). No one expects you to be the next Shakira. Just have fun!
2. Blogging

A’iiiight, I am biased, but I LOVE blogging!
If you’ve got ideas that you’d like to share with the world and you’re good at writing (if you’re not, don’t let that stop you; you can certainly learn to be a better writer). Having a blog is a great hobby for women who have a creative bone.
Even better, blogging is also a hobby that you can turn into a business that makes our extra money online (yayy).
I am so thankful for having a blog during the quarantine. It kept me busy and sane while allowing me to express my creativity during these tough 4 months here in Spain of total lockdown.

3. Gardening

A feminine hobby for women in their thirties that will help channel your feminine energy (ahem, motherly skills) is gardening. As women, our gift to the world is cultivating and growing life in all forms. Human life, animal life, and plant life too.
Recently we started a little herb garden. Every day, I water them, talk to them, and make sure they are well. I know it sounds stupid, but I can’t help but treat my herbs as a pet.
4. Painting

Throw on a paint smock and let your inner Picasso come to life! Painting is a wonderful hobby for women in their 30’s to practice mindfulness. Alternatively, buy a coloring book and spend hours watching your sketches come to life. Add a podcast while you’re at it and learn something valuable on the go.
5. Sewing

Sewing is a wonderful skill and hobby for women in their thirties that should not be lost in time with our grandmas.
By knowing how to sew, you can make your own lovely custom garments, alter ill-fitting pieces to fit you perfectly, or skillfully patch your garments when they get damaged with time.
6. Pottery

If you’re a gal who doesn’t mind getting your hands a little dirty and who also likes home decor, pottery is a creative hobby that you should look into right away. Create pots, mugs, plates, and endless ceramic items for your own homes and for your loved ones. Handmade pottery items are a lovely gift for house warmings too.
7. Mixology

Unleash your inner bartender as a mixologist and impress your friends at your next dinner party.
Mixology is the skill of mixing cocktails and other drinks. You can take classes online, or even better, sign up for a bartending class in your city where you can learn directly from the best what works (and what doesn’t).
8. Calligraphy

Calligraphy is the art of producing decorative handwriting or lettering with a pen or brush. You see calligraphy art many times on wedding invitations or handwritten cards.
Calligraphy is a great hobby for women who enjoy drawing and celebrities such as Meghan Markle are known for having taken calligraphy classes and having impeccable writing skills.
9. Jewelry Making

Jewelry making is the art of creating beautiful accessories such as necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.
Moreover, jewelry making is also a great hobby that you can make money from, should you decide to sell your crafts. Alternatively, simply use your creations yourself as unique pieces that only you have.
10. Traveling

Whether you travel internationally or travel in your own country or town, traveling often is a hobby and characteristic of any sophisticated woman. Traveling is a great hobby for women to expand their minds, knowledge, and cultural sensibility.
11. Scrapbooking

Have you ever tried scrapbooking?
Activities such as scrapbooking involve taking books with blank pages and adding photos, souvenirs, journaling, and cute embellishments. Scrapbooks are great to pass on time and also even better to give as a personalized gift.
12. Photography

Love taking pictures? Instead of spending your time taking selfies (not judging), flip the camera the other way and learn what are the elements of beautiful photography (such as lighting, camera aperture, composition, etc). By understanding what makes a great picture, you will be able to capture stunning shots.
13. Writing

Writing is a great hobby for women in their 30’s because it allows us to be expressive and creative, and to express our feelings.
Before I had this blog, I always kept a journal close to me. I wrote in it whenever I had great news (or sad events that I need to get off my chest).
Journaling your thoughts and feelings is indeed an excellent self-care activity.
15. Volunteering

Volunteering is another hobby idea for women in their 30’s and an experience that everyone should make an effort to partake.
When I lived in Bangkok, my roommate would make an effort every other Sunday to go to a children’s hospital. At the time, I was too immature to understand the importance of being proactive with this and unfortunately, at the time, I never joined her.
Make an effort to volunteer with young children, or spend some time at the old folks home a few times a year. If you love animals, another great idea is to spend some time volunteering at a local animal shelter.
16. Playing Piano (or any other instrument)

It is never too late to learn to play an instrument, and playing the piano is a skill that many people wish they had. Impress people with your fantastic piano skills by taking piano lessons (or any other instrument ) as a hobby.
18. Poetry

Again, as an avid writer, I am biased because I’ve always loved trying to create poetry. When I was 12 I was so in love with a guy from the basketball team that I had a journal filled with poems expressing my love for him (lol).
Don’t be too harsh on yourself when writing poems. Poetry can be flexible and fun when you don’t put so much pressure on coming out with amazing writing.
19. Entertaining
Yet another fabulous feminine hobby— entertaining. Given my hospitality background, I am a natural host and I love spoiling my guests.
The art of bringing people together and taking (good) care of them is a great hobby for women in their thirties.
21. Cooking

Now here is a very practical hobby that you can practice every single day. Cooking not only is great as a hobby but as a healthy step to an improved lifestyle. Cooking your own food ensures that you will be sure to insert your daily doses of vegetables, proteins, healthy fats, and carbs.
Chrissy Teigen’s ‘ Cravings’ cookbook has been a popular Amazon choice or a while now. If you want to learn delicious new recipes, while having a good laugh, this book will do you wonders. You really feel as if Chrissy is your friend guiding you throughout the kitchen madness.

22. Baking

Instead, who doesn’t love freshly baked goodies coming straight from the oven? Baking is a wonderful hobby for women at home who love being in the kitchen and who love leaving a little treat for other people who live with her.
Just be careful with the extra calories if you have a sweet tooth. You’ve been warned!
23. Reading

Reading is a hobby that will improve your life and help make you a smarter woman.
Regardless if you enjoy reading fiction books or non-fiction, books have the fantastic power to make your smarter and a better writer for that matter. Some of my favorite books to read are lifestyle and personal development books for women.
24. Learning a language

Nothing is more elegant than a woman who knows languages.
Imagine visiting Italy and chatting up the handsome bartender in Italian? Or traveling to Paris and being able to ask for a croissant with the local baker in French.
Oh, la la! C’est très impressionnant !
Apps such as Duolingo are fantastic to learn some on-the-go words.
25. Interior Design

Improve your interior design skills and transform your home with smart home decor items. I found this great article that gives 7 Best Free Interior Design Courses that you can take a look at if that is something you want to improve.
29. Yoga/ Meditation
In the same vein as meditation, yoga is a relaxing hobby for women in their 30’s to keep fit and keep peaceful. You can learn Yoga online from YouTube videos or other courses, or you can also join a Yoga class.
Meditation is also not only important to women in their 30s, but I strongly believe it is a necessity. As women, we have an intense hormone fluctuation that can greatly affect our rationale. We absolutely need to learn to control our emotions better and meditating is a great way to do so. In fact, meditating was what helped me get over some panic attacks that I had back in 2012.
30. Cycling

Cycling is an amazing hobby for women in their 30’s to explore, workout, and build the best legs and ass ever! Ditch the public transportation; get a bike and live a healthier, more meaningful life.
31. Flower arranging

I never knew flower arranging was a thing beyond florists until I went to a flower-arranging contest in Bangkok and was mind-blown by their minuscule detail presentations. Knowing how to arrange pretty flowers is beautiful art and skill.
If you’ve got a green thumb, flower arranging is a cool hobby for women in their thirties to learn.
33. Podcasting

Are you blessed with the gift of talking forever? If you’re great at chit-chatting and you sound clear whenever you speak podcasting can also be a great hobby idea for women in their thirties.
Who knows, just as with blogging, if you do it right you can actually make A LOT of money from it.
34. Hiking

Hiking is a relaxing hobby for women in their thirties and a fantastic way to reconnect with nature at a meaningful level.
Throw on your sneakers or hiking boots and explore an urban area or a nature trail in your town.
35. Singing

As we say in Brazil, ‘’those who sing scare their problems away’’. Singing is great medicine for the soul and a fantastic mood booster.
Take singing lessons or take time during your day to sing a bit. Do it like the Disney princesses and open your windows singing ‘’Bonjour’’ to the world.
Conclusion
As you may see, there are seemingly endless options of hobbies for women to start in their 30s to choose from. Sometimes all you need is a bit of creative thinking and a minima effort of getting out of your comfort zone.
Is there any hobby suggestion from this list that you think you might try?
