Nighttime Basic Beauty Habits That Will Transform Your Life
Hi girls, how are you today?
Did you know that our nighttime beauty routine determines various factors of our lives?
A nighttime beauty care determines whether you’ll get good sleep or not, how you’ll feel the next day, and it also how fresh your overall appearance will be the next day.
Think about it: A lot can happen within a few hours of unconsciousness – breakouts, dryness, and even wrinkles (oh, my).
However, if you create a steady and intentional beauty care routine before going to bed, you can make sure that the exact opposite takes place.
By following simple beauty care steps the night before, you’ll also feel a lot more fresh, clean, and rejuvenated when the morning comes (even if you have to wake up at five in the morning for work).
However, I understand that many of us don’t always have the time (or patience) in the morning to take care of ourselves. That’s why some of these topics are crafted specifically if you have a lazy day.

What Are The Most Basic Beauty Habits Women Should Always Do?
#1 Drink Warm Liquids
Experts at Healthline.com affirm that drinking warm water before bed will keep you hydrated through the night and may help the body to rid itself of unwanted toxins. Furthermore, warm water may also help to relieve pain or cramping in the stomach, and even aid in digestion and help your blood circulation.
If you don’t like plain warm water, tea can be your best solution. Below, find two great types of tea suggestions that will add benefits to your beauty sleep routine.
Turmeric is a spice that’s commonly associated with Indian dishes, but it also makes for an awesome detox drink before bed.
In fact, Tumeric helps the skin with it’s anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties (which reduces your skin breakouts and redness). Lastly, it is also rich in antioxidants, which are great for fighting skin aging.
Dandelion tea is packed with vitamins and minerals and will help cleanse and aid your system throughout the night. Detoxing your liver is claimed to also help against hormonal acne.
In fact, there are seemingly endless benefits to drinking dandelion tea, such as lowering your blood pressure, improving your liver health, and supporting your immune system (being a great source of Vitamin C).
Definitely a great substitute to your regular sleepy-time tea.
#2 Create A ”Lazy Girl” Nighttime Go-To Beauty Kit
Next to my bed, I have my nighttime ”lazy girl” go-to kit.
It is literally a small beauty bag that has some “cheating ways” to guarantee that I will be on top of my game, regardless of how lazy I might feel at night.
We all know the importance of washing our face before bed – I even do a double cleanse, following my beloved Korean skincare routine. However, some days I don’t want to do a whole 10-steps beauty routine.
(heck, there are days that I don’t even want to wash my face with water).
In the hopes of avoiding sleeping with makeup and sunscreen on, a great solution is having an emergency go-to kit next to you.
This is a simple bag with your most important night essentials:
- Water-based makeup remover (and cotton)
- Eye cream
- Hydrating face cream
- Lip Balm
- Hair Brush (maybe a scrunchie too)
These above items are the minimum you should aim to comply with every night before bed.

Toner is a key step in the beauty care routine that is misunderstood by most women (it helps remove any last traces of dirt, grime and impurities stuck in your pores. Plus, when used habitually, it can have a major positive impact on the appearance and tightness of your pores).
Also, it is so easy to apply that it would be a waste to skip it, regardless of how lazy you might feel.
#3 Change Your Linen
One of the best ways to ensure that you’ll get a breakout on your face is to sleep in the same sheets and pillowcases for a week straight.
Make a habit of changing the bed linen once a week. If this seems like a lot, aim to replace at least your pillowcases once a week.
Moreover, I bet you’ll agree with me that there is no better way of sleeping than smelling that fresh linen smell from sheets that have just come out of the laundry room.
#4 A Weekly Exfoliation
Adding on to the prior topic, a good way to keep your sheets cleaner for a longer period of time is by taking an exfoliating shower just before bed.
Use your nighttime go-to scrub and gently scrub to remove any dead skin cells and dirt from your body. Don’t forget to moisturize once you’re out of the shower.
Careful not to over-exfoliate!
Exfoliating is important as it helps remove dead cells from the skin, and thus unclogging the pores deep from withing. However, exfoliating can be addictive and, if you over-exfoliate with peels and lasers, you risk weakening and eventually destroying it.
#5 Sleep on Your Back
Sleeping on your side or stomach is one of the underrated ways in which wrinkles form. The reason for this is that when you do this, your skin is pressed up against a pillow creating creases around your eyes and mouth while you sleep.
(This sounds terrible, I know).
Another great way to reduce wrinkles and avoid overnight breakouts, in general, is by using a silk pillowcase.
#6 Get 8 Hours‘ Sleep
You know how you wake up, look at yourself in the mirror, and there are those dark circles under your eyes (that seem to show through makeup no matter how good of a makeup artist you are)?
According to Karly O’Keefe, an esthetician and owner of facial treatment spa, SkincraftLA in Los Angeles, sleep deprivation can cause your skin to grow pale. This causes blood vessels beneath the skin to become more apparent, giving the appearance of dark circles, says
One of the best ways to reduce (or even to get rid of them altogether) is to get a full 8 hours of sleep.
Aim to sleep at a decent time that works for you and wake up without any more dark circles.

#7 A Sleeping Mask
As a last item in our beloved list of basic beauty habits that can take you far with how fresh-faced you wake up is our good friend, the sleeping mask.
If you have difficulties sleeping throughout the entire night, (or even falling asleep at a normal time), have you ever tried using a sleeping mask?
I honestly love them. I go into deep sleep trance whenever I wear a sleeping mask. The only issue is that, due to the complete darkness it provides, whenever I use them I tend to oversleep.
Same as with the cotton pillow issues, I recommend you trying a silk sleeping mask to avoid any wrinkles around your eye areas.
We all want to wake up looking more beautiful and to take care of our looks for the long-term effects. That’s why it’s so important to start a beauty care routine, whether at night or in the morning, so that our health and youth can last longer.
We LOVE hearing your tips!
