Foreo Luna 2 Review
Hi girls, how are you today?
Skincare devices are becoming The thing for beauty fanatics nowadays.
From mini-fridges made exclusively for skincare products to a variety of different cleansing devices popping up every month, double-cleansing is the new cool for 2021.
It all started with the famous Clarisonic brushes, which quickly became the benchmark for all mechanical facial brushes that followed.
In 2013, the Swedish beauty device brand, Foreo, released its first seemingly revolutionary product, The Luna.

I take it everywhere I go.

A Bit About the Foreo Brand
Lately, there’s been a lot of buzz about FOREO’s Luna 2, a waterproof cleansing and anti-aging device that claims to remove up to 99.5% of dirt and oil from your pores.
Foreo is a beauty and tech company specializing in cleansing devices for the face and teeth made with their signature material, silicone.
Foreo Luna is a line of mechanical facial brushes made with medical-grade silicone that’s safe even for sensitive skin.
If you’re prone to breakouts, the Foreo Luna 2 also promises to be more hygienic than other brands such as the Clarisonic, which is said to accumulate bacteria.
The technology featured in Foreo Luna brushes is called T-Sonic Pulsations and it is said to provide a deeper cleaning, anti-wrinkle, and massaging effect.
What Is The Foreo Luna and What Does It Do?
The Foreo Luna 2 is a deep cleansing device then gently exfoliates your skin without aggravating it.
The brand claims that the ‘T-sonic pulsations’ unclogs pores, removes dead skin cells, reduces signs of aging, improves absorption of skincare products.
In turn, this will generally promote clearer, brighter, and healthier-looking skin.
What’s T-Sonic Pulsation, you ask?
It’s a savvy, new way to remove dirt deep inside pores and debris on the surface of the skin. Foreo Luna 2 delivers 2x the T-Sonic power at 8,000 pulses per minute when compared to its predecessor, Foreo Luna.
What is the difference between Foreo Luna and Luna 2?
The most notable difference between the original and the LUNA 2 is the size of the brush area.
The LUNA 2’s brush area is 50% larger than the original, which ultimately means more touch-points are on the face at one time, giving you an even more thorough cleanse
Before going into all the Foreo Luna 2’s benefits, let’s first understand it’s anatomy so that we can maybe better comprehend how it works.

The Anatomy of The Foreo Luna 2
Here’s the cleansing side; it tapers from bottom to top with the largest bristles concentrated on the tip.
The reason behind this it lets the device reach corners and clean them better.
Just in case you’re wondering, the bristle configuration isn’t uniform on all devices.
This means that there is a Luna 2 for every skin type:
(all of them have solid five-star ratings on sites such as Sephora).
So if you thought you’d buy the Foreo in pink to match your other skincare items, yet you suffer from oily skin, then I am sorry to say that the mint one would work best for your skin
(I gave this example because that is exactly what happened to me. I initially wanted the pink one to match all my other pink skincare items, only to find that it was not intended for my oily skin type).
The backside has grooves. This is the anti-aging massage function and it’s meant for use after washing.
It’s intended to stimulate the skin, loosen up the pores, and provide a quick facial massage to increase blood circulation.
I enjoy using the backside to massage my serums onto my skin while I relax in bed.
The shape of Luna 2 is quite intuitive. I can grip it easily and comfortably.
It’s light and its material is quite easy to clean, being 100% waterproof (and dries up easily too).
Why is the Foreo Luna So Expensive?
It all starts because it is said to be revolutionary.
The Foreo Luna 2 is gentle and does not have to replace brushes, as opposed to other popular cleansers, such as the Clarisonic (which I also have).
The Foreo Luna 2 doesn’t harbor bacteria, it’s waterproof, and you never have to buy replacement brushes.
The battery also lasts FOREVER (I only charged mine once, over 6 months ago and it is still ongoing strong).
UPDATE: My Foreo Luna 2 battery lasted over 1 year without needing to recharge it, I kid you not!
Is the Foreo Luna 2 Good for Acne?
The LUNA’s T-Sonic pulsations lift away dirt, oil, and makeup residue that blocks pores on the skin.
By clearing the skin from impurities, it also enhances the effectiveness of skincare products.
This is because it better allows active ingredients to penetrate the skin more deeply (thus giving them a greater chance of treating breakouts).
It is also great to make sure you are properly cleansing your face (this means, for about one minute and not less).
How to Use Foreo In Your Cleansing Regime?
There are three buttons on Luna 2: the middle is the power button, while there is one button to decrease the frequency and another to increase the frequency, upon personal preferences.
According to Foreo, the low frequency is great for massaging and stimulating the skin.
On the other side of the little egg-shaped body of the Luna are grooves that use lower-frequency pulsations to reduce signs of age, like fine lines and wrinkles.
The whole process is supposed to take two minutes, and it’s safe to use two times a day
Can I Use The Foreo Luna 2 Everyday?
Yes.
The brand even claims it to be safe to use twice a day.
I use it as soon as I wake up and as well before going to bed.
It works magically in the nighttime to remove makeup, sunscreen, and overall dirt.

How To clean My Foreo?
Washing the Foreo Luna is really easy:
- Wash your FOREO surface with soap and water.
- Rinse with warm water.
- Pat dry with a lint-free cloth or towel.
- Leave your device to air-dry.
Other Foreo Face Brush Variants
- Luna Mini 3– good for travel and a smaller version of Lune 2; has bristles on both sides–one side is for customized cleansing and the other side for deep cleansing.
- Foreo UFO- a masking device using thermal and cryotherapy that activates the benefits of sheet masks; must be used with an exclusive Foreo mask.
- Luna Go (for men)- good for the bag; made for men; bears the features of Luna 2.
- FOREO Luna Fofo – A travel-friendly, ultra-hygienic, silicone cleansing brush that for fine lines and wrinkles, pores, and dullness and uneven texture
My Personal Thoughts on The Foreo Luna 2
1. My skin immediately feels smoother (and weirdly firmer) after using the Foreo Luna.
2. The anti-aging massager is very relaxing. It’s a great way to end the night and I love using it to apply serum as a luxurious step of my daily skincare.
3. I especially enjoy using it when my skin has breakouts and feels bumpy. It is a nice alternative from actually touching my skin myself.
4. The device is very easy to clean after every use. Dries up with a pat of a towel and stores easily too. It is great for travel, even if you don’t opt for the mini.
5. I also like the fact that it forces me to clean my skin for a minute, which is probably the time I need to spend to make sure that I’m cleaning my face really well.
A better cleansing regime means less congestion within the skin, allowing for more nourished epidermal cells.
Overall, I am not sure if my skin feels cleaner or not with the device, but it is a luxurious step in my daily skincare routine and I love the feeling of using the Foreo.
It is especially good if you tend to feel lazy to clean your face, as it gives you a reason to look forward to a cleanse.
Is The Foreo Luna Worth It?
I am 100% addicted to mine.
It’s a great way to be sure my skin is thoroughly clean while feeling like a luxurious treatment every night. It’s conveniently sized, easy to clean, and with a battery that smartphones could only dream of having.
However, do I believe it is necessary? Not really.

Maybe this is not what you wanted to read in this Foreo Luna 2 review, but I didn’t see any difference in my skin complexion from using the Foreo Luna 2.
This is to say that if you commit yourself to wash your face for around 60s with your clean hands on a daily basis, then there is no real need for the Foreo Luna 2.
However, if you’re a fool for beauty tools (as yours truly) and you got some extra cash, I’d still say it’s a good investment, most especially if you’re a commuter, you wear heavy makeup all the time, and even if you’re just a skincare junkie.
And that’s the truth.
I hope this Foreo Luna 2 review was helpful to you. I know these beauty products can be very tempting to get (and especially when they look so damn CUTE, such as all the Foreo and Clarisonic products).
But if you’re tight on cash, note that there is no need for this investment.
The Foreo Luna 2 will not make your acne disappear, unfortunately.
